habits to start your day

Creating healthy habits to start your day is essential for your inner peace. We know through life that we as humans have such a custom-made but automatic routine that is hard to break out of due to the busy lives we live with work, business, school, and life in general.

Don’t you worry, I know just the things you can do that are small daily habits and require not much effort at all. Shall we begin?

I know how hard it is to change your routine especially if there isn’t any need or any motive to, no matter how hard deep down inside we truly do want to change, but for some reason, we still don’t. This time, it is time to actually put emphasis on them to increase your inner peace and self-love with a bit of a self-care activity and a twist. Here’s my first recommendation for you, are you ready for it?

Habits to Start this Year

Be Greedy To Yourself

When you wake up in the morning. Take the first hour to yourself. That’s right. Be greedy. This will be the only time when being greedy is absolutely okay.

That means, no kids, no phone, no social media, especially Facebook, no messages, no emails, not even saying good morning to your kids or your significant other; at least for the first 10 minutes.

I don’t want you to cause any problems now with your spouse or best friend. However, I don’t want you side-tracked or distracted by anything or anyone, so no catering to anyone else’s needs but yours.

Now, I know what you are thinking, “Okay that’s great and all C.J. but I am so busy, I already have a routine that I have created for myself, I also don’t have the time, or I don’t have a big enough window to add anything to my mornings”.

Don’t worry, I know how it is, I used to be where you were. So I know exactly how you feel. I also however made the small changes to increase my vibration during my day little by little to become happier and at peace with myself and life. So trust me on this one. Let’s talk about the how.

Create a perfect morning routine

For the first 10 minutes of creating healthy habits to start your day, I want you take the time to sit in silence, whether that be on your bed, in your covers, or on your knees while getting up to use the bathroom; Pray. Not religious?

That’s okay, pray to yourself, with you being the all-mighty if that’s what you believe. Pray about your success, what you will change about your life, how you will impact the world, make a ton of money in your business, or how you will increase and enhance your relationships with your family, your spouse, your friends, or kids.

Make demands of the changes, that’s how you can pray.

Meditate In Peace

In the next 10 minutes, I want you to meditate. There are several ways you can meditate. You can sit in the yoga sitting posture with your legs crossed and hands by your sides, back straight, head perfectly facing forward, held high.

You can also meditate lying in bed, with your eyes closed, stretched out with your hands by your sides facing upwards, accepting the energy, and by breathing calmly, and focusing on the inhalation and exhalation. Be mindful and purify your thoughts.

You can meditate while you stretch. This is what I do. It’s best to knock out two birds with one stone. Boom!!! Perfectly done. This leads me to the next one. #noexcuses

Stretch Your Soul

For the next 10 minutes of creating a healthy habit to start your day, try this different way of stretching. I normally start my day by stretching my body and my soul, while I meditate because it’s the best way to feel amazing, fast! Don’t believe me? Try it.

Stretch in your bed, or on the floor. The normal stretches that you used to do when you were a kid in gym class, do you remember those? They work wonders. Mind you we are getting old, and definitely not getting any younger.

It’s important to keep nimble. These are very simple easy stretches. Stretching your back, your arms, your legs, your chest, and your neck are great areas to work on.

This will help get the juices flowing and increase your vibration, energy, breath flow, and oxygen intake, while you are meditating focusing on your breathing.

Thinking about nothingness. It is the best way to feel amazing fast, especially after a long night of uncomfortable sleep. We’ll dig deep into this one later.

Read 1 book per week

In the next 10 minutes for creating healthy habits to start your day, you should read a book. Now that you are up, and feeling amazing, and your brain is super focused and relaxed, there is no better time to learn and grow in the morning than when your brain is alert and ready to take in new information.

Just take 10 minutes to read a book. Not the news, not an article, or any group of words plotted together with a mix of bad info; a book. Or read a few blogs about your choice of wisdom.

Read your favorite book, the Bible, or a new book that is geared for your growth. This will help you set the tone for the day.

Shower in the Dark

The next 10 minutes that create healthy habits to start your day, should be your hot steamy or freezing cold shower.

Now there isn’t really any particular order you do these healthy habits, however, I find it better to take my shower in the dark after all the previous healthy habits I’ve adopted because it is the last step to truly awaken, and be ready for your morning.

A nice steaming hot shower always soothes my nerves, muscles, joints, and brain to be excited for the next part of my day.

Or perhaps a freezing cold shower to wake up the cells and stiffness in your body at a faster alarming rate. The trick is to take your shower in the dark. Why? 2 reasons, changing your daily routine to being different and exciting; and closing your eyes using mindfulness.

When you shower in the dark you cannot see. Therefore you have to close your eyes and or take your time to clean your self which gives you time to think and be mindful of the moment.

This a beautiful tip to slow down your week and ease into the next phase of your day.

Change your listening habits

The last 10 minutes of your power hour is to listen to motivational or inspirational songs, spa music, and classical or calm welcoming music before you step into the next part of your day.

This is the best way to ease and transition into your morning before you drink some coffee, make or eat breakfast and or interact with anyone. I say mornings because that is what I do however you can also do this at night. It is an excellent way to transition yourself from evening to sleep.

Doing these healthy habits to start your day will increase your vibration, and your energy level, calm your mind, and accept what is and what is to come in your day, which will help create more inner peace to take on those challenging moments throughout your day.

If done correctly and daily for a minimum of 66 days, you will start to experience fewer and less challenging moments and be more prepared for your, what used to be “rough mornings and days”. Trust me, if done correctly you will see the difference in literally 24 hours. You can thank me later.

Now, you may check your messages, scroll on social media, talk to your kids, and or your annoying neighbor if you have one, and be happy while you’re doing it. 🙂

IMPORTANT: If you don’t have the time for this, then there is one solution to that problem. Create the time!!!  Wake up earlier if you need more time to complete these habits.

No more excuses. Your self-love, inner peace, and happiness are far more important than someone else. I am not saying not to love or care for anyone else.

Self-care Ideas to Bounce Back

We all have bad days, here is what I do to bounce back from them:

Take a soothing bath or shower

Treat yourself to a warm bath or shower with your favorite scented products. Let the water wash away the stress and tension of the day, allowing you to relax and rejuvenate.

Engage in mindful activities

Practice mindfulness by engaging in activities that bring you joy and help you stay present. This could include coloring, journaling, practicing yoga or meditation, or even just sitting quietly and enjoying a cup of tea.

Treat yourself to something comforting

Indulge in a comforting activity or treat that brings you happiness. It could be watching your favorite movie or TV show, reading a book, listening to calming music, or enjoying a delicious treat. Take the time to focus on something that uplifts your spirits.

Connect with loved ones

Reach out to a trusted friend or family member who can provide support and understanding. Share your feelings and let them know you’re having a bad day. Talking with someone who cares or finding someone who has what you need at this time, can bring comfort and remind you that you’re not alone.

Practice self-compassion

Be gentle and kind to yourself on a bad day. Acknowledge that it’s okay to have rough days and give yourself permission to take a break. Avoid self-criticism and negative self-talk. Instead, offer yourself words of encouragement and remind yourself that you’re doing the best you can.

Engage in physical activity

Engaging in physical activity can be a great way to release stress and boost your mood. Go for a walk or run in nature, do a home workout, or participate in a favorite exercise routine. The endorphins released during physical activity can help uplift your spirits and improve your overall well-being.

Remember, self-care is individualized, so choose activities that resonate with you and bring you comfort and joy. Take the time to prioritize your well-being, especially on challenging days.

In case you have a bad day, which it happens to the best of us from time to time, use these ideas to increase your vibrational output for the day.

I am simply saying you must take care of yourself first and foremost or you won’t be in any shape to take care of anyone else. Your self-care is more important than others-care.
