How to Have a New Perception

Seeing life through rose-tinted glasses simply means whatever you look at you only see the beauty in that frame, in other words, you only see the brighter side of the scene or your situation, and you have a cheerful, happy, and optimistic attitude towards life. Looking at life through rose-tinted glasses is a huge mindset shift.

“Where attention goes, energy flows”, if you focus on the rainbows and unicorns of life, you’ll naturally feel happy and satisfied on the other if you focus on the hurricanes and vampires of life, you’ll naturally have nightmares. You might wonder isn’t it just okay to go through life randomly without any specific perspective, or is this perspective really worth something?

The answer would be, try it and see it for yourself, there is no harm in trying something new. If you are someone who is looking for ways to enhance the quality of your life, then this article is for you.

Here are some ways you can inculcate this new perspective in your life.

 The art of being unbothered

Attitude is everything. But what kind of attitude? to live life through rose-tinted glasses you need a cheerful attitude towards life. If someone is criticizing you, laugh it out, or maybe give them a comeback. But don’t take it to heart. You got to be unbothered.

When you are whole in yourself this attitude comes naturally to you. If someone judges you, remember it talks more about them than you. Become that happy and cheerful person who is unbothered by anything that’s going wrong.

Be genuinely happy, not just for the flex. If some circumstances are not going your way believe that it is still in your favor you just are not able to see it yet and stay unbothered. Go for a no-reaction challenge maybe for a week or a month.

“Life is 10% what happens to you and 90% how you react to it”

Giving Your Self Credit When Credit Is Due

It is important to give yourself credit for the things that you accomplish by putting your mind, energy, and time into it. Doesn’t matter how small your achievement seems, promise me from now on you are celebrating each of those little moments of happiness.

Come on if not real, can’t you just pop imaginary confetti? or maybe can’t you just buy yourself your favorite ice cream cone? Whether you did great on a test or you won a huge award, just celebrate it because you deserve it.

However, don’t forget to be happy for others’ accomplishments and get inspired by it.

 Small accomplishments for instance –

# if you studied for longer hours than yesterday

# if you did really well on a test

# if you woke up earlier than yesterday

# if you ticked off all the tasks on your to-do lists

# if you reached a milestone in your studies or work

# if you completed reading a book

# if you impacted someone’s life

# if you helped someone

# if you understood a hard-to-grasp concept (while studying)

positive self talk

Positive self-talk

How do you talk to yourself? Are you kind to yourself? Are you a self-critic? Observe the way you talk to yourself, because it has a huge impact on the way you see yourself and in turn how others see you.

If you think negatively about yourself, if you are hard on yourself, if you get disappointed in yourself, if you feel sorry for yourself, if you feel you are useless, if you feel you are not smart enough, if you feel you are not pretty enough or good-looking enough, if you feel you are simply not enough, hey listen up, that’s self-sabotage.

Forgive yourself, accept yourself, accept your shortcomings, don’t wallow in them, don’t blame yourself for unnecessary things. Talk to yourself as you talk to a best friend, you got to be kind to yourself. You are enough exactly as you are.

 Here are some tips:

# Pick a nickname for yourself, it can be anything, cherry, sprinkles, bubbles, etc. Whenever you are thinking, call yourself by your nickname. It’s difficult to talk rudely to yourself when you call yourself bubbles or something along those lines.

# Make it a rule of thumb that you are not thinking as well as not speaking self-deprecating stuff. So self-deprecating talks, thoughts, and jokes are all a big no-no.

Occasional self-treats

Give yourself some royal treatment, I mean throw yourself exclusive parties where only you are in. Take yourself to your favorite place.

Maybe just get yourself a cup of ice cream or a chocolate milkshake or just anything that holds a place in your heart since childhood.

But the condition is it should be without any reason. You really don’t need a reason to celebrate life. Every day of this life should be a celebration but that would make this thing boring, so do it occasionally XD LOL.

Treat yourself occasionally, this is to make you feel special by yourself. If you are important in your eyes, you will be important in everybody else’s life. And don’t say you don’t have time for yourself, make yourself a priority.

how to love yourself

How to Love and Care for Yourself

When you love yourself completely your life changes, and you make decisions that you are worthy of. You know exactly what’s best for you.

You respect yourself more and know your value. Just list your strengths and weaknesses. Accept the unchangeable liabilities, work on your changeable weaknesses, and be grateful for all your strengths. Accept yourself wholly precisely as you are.

When you feel burnt out or sick, focus on self-care more, fulfill your needs, and seek comfort.

If you haven’t already, start a skincare routine, doesn’t matter if you are a girl or a boy, skin is the largest organ of our body and you ought to take good care of it.

Just some moisturizer body lotion and essential oils will be great to start with. And then to level up your skincare game, you can try face packs on a weekly basis. Love yourself unconditionally you deserve it.

It’s the Little Things That Matter

“For her, every day was the same, and when each day is the same as the next, it’s because people fail to recognize the good things that happen in their lives every day that the sun rises”

Paulo Coelho

There is beauty and magic in the little moments, it’s a tragedy that some of us miss out on them. Life is nothing but a series of little moments strung into a beautiful necklace. So cherish them, live them fully. Appreciate their beauty and delve into the joy it brings.

The big things in life at times overwhelm us, make us overthink, stress us out, but are very important to us and so we usually live only for the big things. But hey, the little things are just as important as the big ones. Live through them too.

The only difference you will find is that little things bring more peace. For instance, the feeling that you get when you are watching a series or movie that speaks to your heart, that smell of the first rain, that feeling when listening to a song takes you back in time, that feeling of the warmth of a blanket in cold winters, thinking that wearing fuzzy socks is like cozy hugs for your feet,

Or how about that feeling of complete change after having a new haircut, the fragrance of flowers, laughter of your family, that feeling of freshness after a bath, the coolness of that breeze gushing through your hair while you are on a bike ride, the sight of a perfect sunrise or a sunset, the clinking sound of your heels while walking, sight of a mesmerizing art piece, reading a heart touching poetry, story or a quote, random acts of kindness, and many such little things.

Sharing your happiness through service

The greatest joy is in being of help to someone. Be of service to people who need it and you will be surprised at how fast happiness emerges from it, and in no time it grows in multiples. When you are helping someone out, you realize your value, you realize how big of a role you are playing in this world, and you realize that your presence is making this world a better place.

At the same time, you spread joy, compassion, and love by doing those acts of kindness. You have the potential to impact live all around the globe. These acts raise your self-esteem and overall quality of life.

“As we serve others we are working on ourselves; every act, every word, every gesture of genuine compassion naturally nourishes our own hearts as well. It is not a question of who is healed first. When we attend to ourselves with compassion and mercy, more healing is made available for others. And when we serve others with an open and generous heart, great healing comes to us.”

                                                                                                                        -Wayne Muller.

Soothe your nerves and regulate your nervous system

how to relax

Often times the anticipation of the future creates fear, anxiety, overthinking, stress, and worries. Do you even know that when we are in that state of anxiety and stress what happens to our bodies?

Well, in the state of anxiety, fear, and stress, we are in our survival mode, a signal is sent to our brain that we are in some kind of danger and we need to protect ourselves in order to survive, this is a natural human instinct from time immemorial, we had this mechanism to save ourselves from predators from back in the days when we didn’t live in apartments and penthouses.

First, external stimulus causes us to stress about something.

Second, a signal is sent to the brain that it’s a “stressful time” and a couple of hormones (adrenaline and cortisol) are released to make us competent to face the perceived danger but to be honest nowadays we don’t really have much predator related danger, usually it’s probably work or study related stress so these hormones are not that useful quite often.

And let me tell you the most important thing – cortisol (stress hormone) is your VILLAIN, just stay away from it. You’ll be shocked to know that the ill effects of this hormone on our body are not something to be a fan of. And if we are in a stressful condition for a long time our body even gets addicted to cortisol and it becomes worse.

Here are some ill effects of excess cortisol: weight gain (face and abdomen), fat deposits between shoulder blades, diabetes, hypertension, hirsutism in women, proximal muscle weakness, osteoporosis, Cushing’s syndrome, weak immune system, decreased metabolism, depression, chronic fatigue, sleep deprivation, migraines, tunnel vision, acid reflux disease, and arthritis. I don’t want to scare you but ill tell you to beware.

Thus, stress, fear, and anxiety are so bad. It’s doing more harm than good. In short, these feelings are totally useless.

Feel them for a while and then let them go. So just keep the villain out of your way. Don’t let your stress and anxiety push you around.

But the problem is when we get stressed, fearful, or anxious, it’s really not that easy to get rid of it. Well, the best way to soothe your nerves quickly is to MEDITATE. Put on a guided meditation specifically meant for anxiety and stress, and you are good to go.

You will notice that you feel so much lighter and better after meditating, all the heavy feelings will eventually melt away leaving you calmer than ever.

Making meditation a habit by including it in your daily schedule is a big win. It will enhance the quality of your life to a huge extent. You will always feel lighter, better, enthusiastic, full of energy, and happy intrinsically. Whatever you are looking for out in this world, is already within.

Always remember the thing that I told you about cortisol, the VILLAIN. Do yourself a favor and meditate each time you feel anxiety or stress creeping in. Meditation. That’s the way you soothe your nerves and regulate your nervous system. Do it often.

how to give gratitude

Gratitude

It’s a matter of fact that gratitude has a frequency of 540 M Hz. This means it’s a high vibrational feeling, meaning it’s a good vibe to be in. Notice the things that you are blessed with and feel appreciation and gratitude for it. And according to quantum mechanics, in no time you will have more things to be grateful for.

To be honest this is very well tried and tested, its 100% true and science-backed. That’s the magic of gratitude. Its best to keep a gratitude journal or take just any journal and every day note down 3 things you are grateful for in it.

Over time you will feel abundant in your blessings and you will feel like a lucky and blessed person. This practice has the power to instantly lift your spirits and lit up your mood. And like I said you’ll have more blessings coming your way (according to quantum mechanics). Also don’t forget to be thankful for the people who are important in your life.

Resilience

“It’s your reaction to adversity, not the adversity itself that determines how your life’s story will develop”

 – Dieter Utchdorf.

“Rock bottom became the solid foundation on which I rebuilt my life”

– J.K. Rowling.

It does not matter what circumstances you are dealing with, you are capable of coming out of it. You can turn your world around. Believe in yourself and in your strength.

Give yourself time to heal, and take steps to reinvent your life. Turn your adversities into opportunities and make a difference in your life. Remember slow progress is still progress. When your situations are not going the way you wanted them to go, keep strength and patience.

Even if you don’t understand why a certain thing happened in your life believe that it happened for your good, which you are not able to see currently, but I promise it will make sense in the long run because you’ll then have a bigger picture and all the dots will join up.

Everything happens for a reason and that reason is always in your favor. In tough times its even more important to look at life through rose-tinted glasses. Its important to believe that you are exactly where you are meant to be. And that eventually things will work out in your favor. Because

“It’s all rigged, everything is in your favor”, this is valid evermore.

So when you fall down, get back up with utter grace.
